What are the new 42 CFR Part 2 Consent Requirements?
In April 2024, changes were made to consent requirements aimed at modernizing and improving information sharing while safeguarding confidentiality. Patients can now review and provide a one-time general consent for treatment, payment, and healthcare operations (TPO) on our clinic kiosks during check-in. Is my personal and health information private and secure?
Yes. We adhere to strict HIPAA guidelines and 42CFR Part 2, a federal regulation governing confidentiality of substance use disorder (SUD) patient records.
